Lissa Murphy

Hi, I’m Lissa Murphy. I am thrilled to be co-leading one of the NLC 2030 Classes. I have been involved with Adventure Unlimited and its many programs for over 40 years. I’ve been a camper at the A/U Ranches, a counselor for 3 years in the early 1990s (go corral!), was a mentor to teens in the 2010 and 2017 NLC classes, been a parent to two NLC teens, and serve on the Adventure Unlimited Board of Trustees. And I’ve led the DC DiscoveryBound chapter for almost 25 years. It’s safe to say I love Adventure Unlimited!

I live in Northern Virginia, near Washington, DC. I’m in the satellite industry, with degrees in physics and statistics. My specialty is the ins and outs of tracking satellites. My husband Michael and I met in Scotland while we were both studying abroad, and we have three awesome boys, the youngest of whom is in the 2028U NLC class. Our oldest works for A/U HQ and lives in beautiful Buena Vista, CO. Our middle son is at Franklin and Marshall College in the charming city of Lancaster, PA. I’m active in my local church and in my spare time love running with my dogs and reading.

I legitimately enjoy teenagers (LOL), and can’t wait to start getting to know our class, and growing together. We are going to have the BEST TIME.
